Denyigba Radio Reinforces Commitment to Youth in Agriculture Through Agbledzor Prize

Denyigba Radio continues to strengthen its role in promoting agriculture in the Ketu North Municipality and beyond. In 2018, the station’s flagship agricultural program, Agbledzor, received national recognition when it was awarded the Best Agricultural Promotion Program among municipalities across Ghana.

In the wake of this achievement, management instituted the Agbledzor Prize—an annual award designed to encourage and celebrate young farmers in the municipality. Since its inception, the prize has served as a source of motivation, inspiring many young people to show renewed interest in agriculture as a sustainable and rewarding venture.

Beyond the yearly award, Denyigba Radio has remained consistent in providing free agricultural tutorials in partnership with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) in Ketu North. The interactive sessions, aired every Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, offer listeners practical knowledge on crop production, livestock management, modern farming techniques, and other relevant agronomic practices. Many farmers continue to benefit from these lessons, which have contributed to improving yields and promoting best practices within the local farming community.

As part of this year’s celebration, the station is proud to announce that the Best Youth Farmer Award comes with a standing fan, presented as a gesture of appreciation and encouragement to the young farmers who remain committed to advancing agriculture in the region.

Denyigba Radio reaffirms its dedication to supporting the agricultural sector, particularly the youth, as the nation works collectively toward food security and economic prosperity.
